TikTok Shop announced on 22 August 2025 that preparations for the “Global Black Five” season, which will continue from late October until early December, would be officially launched, covering core markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan and Mexico. The most important annual resources of the Platform are the launch of the Diversity Promotion and Marketing Act, which provides comprehensive support to cross-border vendors and helps to capture the largest sales nodes of the year.

TikTok Shop’s “Global Black Five” season 2025 is an important part of its cross-border powerer strategy, and plans to integrate the Platform’s most important annual resources to provide business with diversified marketing methods and comprehensive support. Consumers are motivated to buy through a combination of short video, live tape and net red marketing through the unique advantage of social electricians. Core markets include mature markets (e.g., the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany) and emerging markets (e.g., Mexico), showing TikTok Shop ‘ s diversified global expansion.
TikTok Shop’s content powerer model is a central advantage. In 2024, live shopping in the United States lasted more than 8 million hours, with 76 per cent of users buying through live broadcasting. In 2024, TikTok Shop provided 5 billion plus on-site exposure, in-site traffic support and subsidy policies. The campaign is expected to attract young consumers (mainly aged 18-34) through exclusive discounts, interactive live broadcasts and AR filters, especially in electronics, clothing and cosmetics, and is expected to account for more than 50 per cent of Black Five online expenditures.

In 2024, global sales by black-fives amounted to $65 billion, the United States contributed $10.7 billion, and mobile-end transactions accounted for over 60 per cent. TikTok Shop, using the “Shoppertainment” model (integrated short video with electrician), performed strongly during the black fifth half of 2024. In 2025, TikTok Shop plans to further optimize the mobile shopping experience by adding localised payment options (e.g. Klarna, PayPal) and cyber-red partnerships to improve conversion rates.
TikTok Shop’s Global Black Five strategy focuses on the shopping habits of young consumers. The data show that 70 per cent of TikTok users are better informed when they see brand content, and 46 per cent of Z generation users are shopping through social media. Through live feed and short video recommendations, the platform enhances the attractiveness of impulsive purchases, with an average purchase value of $43 (less than $80 in Instagram), reflecting the success of low-price strategies.

TikTok Shop’s “Global Black Five” season is not only the peak of annual sales, but also the litmus test of a global electrician strategy. The success of the activity depends on the optimization of mobile end-of-pipe experience, the marketing of net red (36 per cent of black and black consumers are driven by social media) and the integration of local logistics. In the future, TikTok Shop plans to expand to markets such as the Netherlands and Belgium to address regulatory challenges and localization needs on a continuous basis.
